It’s a quiet weekend here, and the weather isn’t being terribly cooperative, so we’re staying indoors. Singingsheep introduced me to some of the other knitted denizens of her household.

I wasn’t sure what to make of Boo the bat,

The quartet of gnomes seemed nice enough, if a bit standoffish.

I only briefly met with Dolores and Harry. Singinhgsheep wasn’t sure that Dolores was the best influence on a young rabbit.

Meeting an actual work of art was a little overwhelming.

and Festus, AKA Surly Toad, was a bit, well, surly.

I was very happy to finally meet these two!

I got to do a little birding through the kitchen window.

Then it was time to help with dinner. In an effort to reduce the amount of meat they consume (and thereby their impact on the planet), Ssingingsheep has been trying to expand her repertoire of vegetarian meals. Tonight we’ll be having a Jamaican sweet potato, squash, and black bean stew (on brown rice), featuring the last of last year’s butternut squash from the garden.

Singingsheep and I found the perfect spot for me to hang out while she works in the kitchen.

I fit snugly into this sweater pocket!
