Today we drove to Hechingen with Catmaxx’ mom and sister.

In Hechingen is the headquarter of Zwerger Garn Opal Wolle.

Outside the store is a really big old wheel decorated with knitted socks.

I asked inside the shop, if I could take some pictures for all of you and the lady in the shop was friendly and allowed it.

There was so much wool!    We bought several skeins of sock yarn. They have pretty much colours. I think, Opal is known in Europe, maybe also in America?

After the trip to Opal we drove to the castle Hohenzollern.

It’s a really big castle, built in the 19th century and is located above Hechingen. (More information about Hohenzollern

Back home we had lunch, spaetzles, sauerkraut and smoked pork chop, a typical swabian meal.

After that we found this interesting object while cleaning the house:

My host family doesn’t know, what this is, but maybe one of you? Catmaxx and her mom think, that it is a Japanese object, so maybe my last hostess, Mimimi,  knows more about it?

It was a really long day, so I’m going to bed now. Sleep well!
