Yesterday, we hit the road for Ithaca, NY! Sam said it would have been nice to have me visit once the weather’s warmer, because she could have taken me hiking to see Ithaca’s waterfalls and gorges. Did you know that Ithaca has a cool saying, “Ithaca is Gorges”? It’s supposed to be a pun, like “gorgeous.” Heehee.

We started off by meeting some of Sam’s friends for brunch at a vegan restaurant called Angelhearts. Sam is vegan, meaning she doesn’t eat meat or other products coming from animals. When we head back to the farm this week, I’ll get to meet some really cool animals who are survivors, and get to have happy lives like me.

One of Sam’s friends was kind enough to share her donut while we waited. It was so good, I had to take a bit off of Sam’s when she wasn’t looking as well.

Sam also got a Tofu Benedict on the most delectable biscuits.

We sat and chatted for a little while before heading to the Commons. First, we stopped in a shop called “Home Green Home,”that’s geared towards environmental sustainability. Sam got an extra canvas lunch bag. I took a look at all of the fun things at the shop, including these singing bowls that people use for meditation, plants, animal, coasters, and paintings. I also had a little fun dangling in some paper chains. I’m always one for a little decoration!

Afterwards, we found some cool places to pose, including this “Ithaca is Gorges” sign!

I met this really nice lady, but she didn’t have much to say.

One of Sam’s friends thought it would be fun to help me up for a bird’s eye (erm, rabbit’s eye) view of the Commons.

Famous astronomer Carl Sagan used to live in Ithaca, and there is a space walk in a scaled-down version of the solar system in his honor. Sam didn’t have time to take me further along as we had other plans right after, but she mentioned wanting to take a closer look at that some day.

Sam had plans with another friend, but as we walked back to her car I got to try out some of the “lime bikes” as part of a local bike share.

And I got to pose near some other cool statues on the way back.

But one of my favorite places to be? Target. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like going to Target. I know you can see this at any Target, but I had a little fun balancing on one of the red balls in front. Then, Sam and her friend walked through Target to get to the mall.

I saw some rubber ducks in a shower display. I really wanted to meet them, only to find that there was glass preventing access. I felt a little silly, like those pigeons who fly into the doors in those Windex commercials.

I did get to see some kindred spirits right in front of Michael’s. Mother always hinted that we might be related to the Easter Bunny.

I think I’d do a great job at hiding eggs, how about you? In this case, it’s more likely that you’d find the bunny hiding in the eggs, instead of the eggs in hiding.

I checked out some Harry Potter shirts at the game store that Sam and her friend went to. I’d like to think that I’m a good little boy - for the most part. Mother does say I have mischievous tendencies about me, sometimes!

At the game store, we played a game that’s new to both Sam and myself. It’s called Ticket to Ride, and the point of the game is to lock in some train routes so you can have all the connections you need to get from one city to another. I thought it was the perfect game for a traveling bunny like me! I got to play with the green trains (Sam’s friend joked that it’s perfect for me, as someone who likes their “greens” to eat), and I think I did quite well!

After all of that excitement, we all needed a little bit of a break today. Sam had the day off from work so we got to sleep in and get some more knitting done. That evening, I got to help make dinner. Sam has some pretty cool decorations in her kitchen, including a signed photo from Instagram sensation, The Tiny Chef! He’s a hero to small creatures like myself, showing that no matter your size, you can still do big things.

I got to munch on some lettuce as Sam prepared a salad.

And I then enjoyed some roasted red pepper Mac n cheese.

Let’s see what tomorrow’s adventures bring!
