My hostess booked today off to catch up with things after being out of the house most of the weekend. I helped with the housework again, so we took some time out for a walk between rain showers.

We went to Coronation meadows. It’s a favourite walk for Arnie and my hostess. There is a circuit bypath when it is wet and muddy.

The meadow was designated as a conservation site in order to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s diamond jubilee in 2012. My hostess says It is starting to look really pretty in spring and summer, but it looks a bit bleak this time of the year. Still a nice place to walk, and they often meet other friendly dogs and their owners.

We did find a pile of lovely rustling leaves in a sheltered corner to play in for a few minutes, but the grass was too wet for me to run around much today.

We are still baking ready for Elf Day on Thursday! They will be holding it at the inpatient unit. The staff will be sponsored to dress as elves, and there will be elf themed afternoon tea.

We made ginger cake  today. This is from a recipe my hostess's mum gave her that she has been using for years. I think she typed this out in the early 1980s. Not sure if you can read it, but if you can, do try it, it’s yummy!

One for elf day and one for the freezer ready for Christmas
