Bags packed and a last minute call to mum to let her know that I’m about to hit the road.

equine won’t say where I’m going but she did hint that I’ll need some woolens. She also said the moderators commented that the next person is a “real sweetheart” so I’m really very excited about meeting my next host. Apparently, my new host has been waiting a very long time too.

I’m going to miss Edna and baby panda. Edna’s having surgery today to see why she keeps getting urinary tract infections. She’s also being desexed. She has a good chance of becoming a guide dog when her training ends but she won’t be a breeding dog. equine’s boss has raised 7 puppies so far for Guide Dogs Victoria. Her first became a breeding dog because she has excellent health and a good temperament, her last one is a guide dog. The one that broke her heart became a pet because he was way too naughty. The people who have him spoil him rotten.

equine doesn’t seem to think I will survive the 41 degree Celsius days that are coming up and that the hottest days of the year come around the same time that the Australian children go back to school after their summer holidays. “We’re pulling a sickie!!” That’s Australian for “I’m not really sick and I’m not going to work today”. equine wants to make sure that I have everything I need for my journey. She even got me a new luggage tag so I won’t get lost.

Now we’re off to go shopping. HawthorneC produces some really nice yarns so we’re off to see what she has at the market today.

the one looking right at the camera is called “Boofhead”. he’s very demanding and gets annoyed when he’s fed late. I’ve made several videos of the magpies over the years and Boofhead keeps coming back. I love him to bits
