Today we went to Hama-Otsu Port on Lake Biwa. My hostes knitted while we watched the ship. 

The prefecture where I am visiting is a sister city with the state of Michigan in America. When building a ship for sightseeing in Lake Biwa, the shipbuilder adopted the look of Mississippi River ship from the USA and named it the Michigan. 

Later my friends and I visited a traditional Japanese house.

Raccoon dog figurine is traditional in this area.
