Good morning, Gulli here!

Now more of my adventures from yesterday.

We walked up through the vineyards and could look at the other side of the Kaiserstuhl.

Again we saw blue mountains and Hühnchen explained that these are the Vosges and we can look far into France here.

Then we walked along endless rows of grapes.

They just start to harvest them so we picked some to try them. Yummy! This is really a land of milk and honey! So many fruit everywhere!

We crossed those loess walls.

There are many holes in these walls. That’s because many animals live there. Like a kind of skyscraper for insects.

The small holes are made by wild bees. The big one where I sit is from a bird called bee-eater. It’s a very colourful bird that lives here in the summer. We could see them fly around and crying “tjöööp” everywhere.

Here some beautiful flowers between the vine.

We went to a playground at the forest. Here we has a great view back to the black forest. The mountain directly above my ears is called “Kandel” and it’s more than 1000 m high.

And now a last picture from the sunrise this morning. Hühnchen and me sitting in the zucchini enjoying the view.
