Hello again and greetings from Key West, Florida. We have been lucky today to have 4G signal (I don’t think we’ll be this lucky again for a few days). I’m taking this chance to update everyone on what we’ve been up to! Once we get back on Saturday, I’ll have time to post more trip information.

This morning, we walked to Zachary Taylor Beach and swam in the ocean for a little while. It’s a beautiful spot at the the edge of the island with lots to see.

On our way home to the ship, we stopped by the Harry Truman house.

This was an important thing for Mary to do because her uncle Slim was a Florida native whose 40-year long career as a highway patrolman landed him a gig as part of Harry Truman’s security detail while the president was at this house in Key West. They have some interesting correspondence from the White House from that time, thanking him for his service. It’s a fascinating little piece of their family history and she finally got a chance to see where it all happened. We rounded out our day with a delicious piece of blueberry key lime pie, and an excellent cup of Cafe Bustelo coffee. Well, Mary had coffee. I just had a sip.

Our final Key West experience was crossing paths with a gypsy chicken, and seeing an egret spear a lizard from a bush 2 feet away from us. We are back home on the boat now and about to set sail. If I can post more in the next couple of days I will - otherwise more updates will be posted once we return to Orlando. Have a great week all!
