Hi all!

The grandsweeties finally came after all that cleaning. I learned that grandsweeties are very special girls. One of them dressed up like a forest and went and sat with her dad all day out in the woods in a little hut made of fabric that looked like her clothes. She brought a book with her and read it twice. They were hoping to see some deer, but fortunately they only saw tracks. We didn’t get any photos of her, but we did get some of her sister.

First she sewed and I supervised. She made a drawstring bag from some pretty snowflake fabric.

Then we went outside. It was such a pretty day, sunny and warm. I sat for awhile on a pallet that is used for a garden gate.

All of that green behind me is turnip greens. The Mister throws the seeds out here and there and lots of them came up this year.

I had a yummy turnip greens al fresco lunch.

After she went hunting with her Dad, Grandsweetie #3 treated us to a fashion show with her doll, Aleah that she and Dawn collaborated on three years ago. She wants new clothes for Aleah for her birthday, so they have been working together to pick out patterns and colors. I didn’t make it into any of the photos, but I was an appreciative member of the audience.

Aleah wants one of these hoodies. Dawn even had the yarn sitting out from her last project, but she got all worried when the pattern came up 404 not found. I reminded her about the Wayback Machine and there it was. Drama avoided, hoodie half knitted.

Aleah needs shoes, but these aren’t going to work.

I also met Pinkie Amineko. Dawn made these for all seven of her grandsweeties last Christmas. She was tickled to find a project that worked for girls from fifteen to six months old.

After the girls left, we went through lots of boxes and picked out fabrics and yarns for Aleah’s new wardrobe. These were colors requested and approved by Grandsweetie #3 (that’s not her real name, Dawn doesn’t share their names on the internet). I think it’s neat that Pinkie fits right in with the colors.
