Yesterday when the delivery person was carrying me I thought I heard someone say “at last.” On the way down the path this morning I met Ploop. He told me that a very long time ago emjaydee told him about a little bunny who would be arriving one day. Through the winters and summers Ploop has been watching out for me to arrive. He is happy that I am here safely.

We got in a little car. I could see emjaydee’s house straight ahead. Today is rubbish day. I was excited to see the big rubbish truck drive past. Emjaydee said the recycling truck had come past very early to take away glass bottles. Some houses have a lot of bottles but others don’t have many. Edit from scubytink - Perhaps some people don't practice recycling :(

We drove in the car. We seemed to go up high. Not as high as the ‘plane though. We went inside a building. I was checked over and the person in charge said I was a safe animal to go through the predator-proof fence. She told me a special number to get through the gate. Emjaydee told me to listen. I could hear many birds. We were at an eco sanctuary called Orokonui.

I had to look very carefully to see the skinks in their enclosure

I liked the trees and ferns and even got adventurous climbing along a branch

It was hard to get photos of the birds but this robin came up close.

On the way back I saw the special fence that keeps the sanctuary safe for plants and birds. I also saw this lovely statue.
