I had another exciting day today. First I was fitted for my own little helmet so that I could ride on the motorcycle handlebars. Then Pip and some other new friends jumped in their travel bag for a road trip. We headed toward Gravenhurst as we had heard of an injured turtle that might need transport. My host Cathy volunteers as a Turtle Taxi and other wildlife relocation driver. We found out the turtle did not need a ride so spent the day finding new roads to ride. Some of them were fabulous but a few were poorly maintained gravel…. never fun when riding alone.

Here is our trusty motorcycle. Cathy has ridden it over 100000 km since 2009.

The highlight of the day was seeing the marine railroad in action. Here are several pictures of boats being ferried up and over the roadway.

And an information board about this mechanism which was built instead of a traditional flight of locks.
