My second day here we stayed home. My host Cathy lives on the edge of Ontario’s cottage country and the traffic on Friday and Sunday during the summer is intense.

We began the day with coffee, tea and knitting on the deck. I am surrounded by new friends, some of them are Canadian Corolympics athletes.

Once it was too warm for knitting we went to the basement work room to catch up on sewing. Our first job was to help with pinning

Then we learnt about the sewing machine.

I am an excellent pin puller while Pip is the “straight seam supervisor”

Next it was the serger. After our investigation and lesson we decided the sharp blade was too dangerous for little rabbits and supervised from a distance.

Look what we helped make! Scrub caps for nurses.

The remainder of the day was more sewing and knitting while watching TV. Tomorrow is a road trip!
