Equine is absolutely bonkers!

We’ve been out on the road all day! She took her 79 year old mother for blood tests, x-rays and a haircut before lunch. They had pizza and I stole the rocket garnish while they were watching life go by.

That was followed by a trip to the beach. Equine had a crafternoon in Frankston. Frankston is about 35 kilometers from Melbourne and has it’s own climate. Usually sunny. It sits on the bottom end of Port Phillip Bay. A giant fish bowl at best.

She then took me to Western Port Bay to see where the people rescued from the bushfires were docked at the Port of Hastings. It was very smoky there as there was a fire on French Island today. Only a small one that was under control but still, it caused a bit of stress.

There were so many seagulls trying to get fish scraps from the fishermen and trying to cheat the pelicans from getting any too.The seagulls are notorious!!

Equine had a jacket fitting which is why we came here. We had dinner out too! Poor equine’s mother was tired by the time we’d gotten home. We’ve been out all day and I reckon equine just goes home to sleep. Absolutely bonkers!!!

Where’s my carrot and vodka???? I’m going to need it to unwind tonight. My head is still spinning from all the excitement.

From mistealeaf:

Look who put in an appearance at today’s knit meet ..

Just Gulli getting his (or equines) knit on…

And he was disappointed there were no carrots in my lunch bowl..

He really just endeared himself to all the knits today, trying things for size and checking progress.

Crawling through the sock before I closed the toe gave him an opportunity to get up close to all the stitches.

From Gulli:

We didn’t see any displaced people. Equine wanted to show me both sides of the peninsula. One was calm, the other subject to fast moving tides and the swell of Tasman Sea. Today I met misteacraft.

She is a designer and has a few patterns on Ravelry. equine has tested for her before and this week she was working on two new sock patterns  One For Valentine’s day with the best cabling down the back of the calf. Very flattering!!

Also met roguepurler who was working on her shrug. She always knits with the best quality yarn. It was nice and sunny when we arrived in the Botanical Gardens but then there was a sudden shower so I hid in equine’s test knit.

So cosy! and warm  ironically, the pattern was a snake skin hat and I know about the dangers of snakes in the garden but equine said it was safe as it wasn’t finished yet.

The rain was very tropical. In 10 minutes it was gone but it was enough for the pont to pack up and for roguepurler to get home safely before the storms arrive. roguepurler lives right in the heart of the Melbourne city grid and gets the best views of all the fireworks!

On the drive home, they announced a severe storm warning. Oh dear! equine’s project is like a warm cocoon. That will keep me safe and sound.
