Off went to visit the old woollen mill in Drefach Velindre, Llandysul.

It’s one of the few mills where fabric is created from the scratch with raw fleece.

The fleece is really soft.

The was fleece is picked over on the spiked rollers then moves onto the next for light carding, again with a finer toothed carder.

Then it’s processed into pencil roving ready for the spinning mules.

Upstairs the spinning mules run the length of the mill.

Here are the looms, I got to inspect the cloth.

Upstairs is like stepping back in time.

I was a bit mesmerised.

There’s a huge collection of vintage Welsh coverlets.

I got to taste a Welsh cake , yum!

Soobie's friend Janet was spinning while we were here. She knits lovely Fairisle cardigans with her yarns.

There were photos of Welsh knitters of the past.

Interesting how so many people are knitting here.
