It was really warm and sunny today. It got to over 70 degrees F. We walked up the driveway and I got to get a closer look at the main cow herd. It’s no wonder they sounded so loud when I was stuck in that soaking wet box. Their feeders are very close to the end of the driveway where that guy left me.

They were gathered here waiting to get their grain. In the summer they mostly eat just grass with grain once in a while to keep them trained to come when the Mister calls them. The grass is mostly gone now and they are eating hay and grain instead.

That little white line is an electric fence. Gerda, the dog, told me that you don’t want to touch it. I think it’s much too high to bother me, but it did allow us to get pretty close to the cows.

And to the bull too. That big guy with the #1 earring is the bull.

After we watched the cows for awhile, I got hungry too. This stuff looked interesting, but I decided it probably isn’t good to eat.

I loved soaking up that late afternoon sun. Everyone said that it’s rare that it is this warm here in Arkansas in November.

On the way back to the house, we stopped for a closer look at those bawl baby calves. They were munching down on hay. It will take them a while to eat this big bale. The main herd goes through two of these every three days.

Aren’t they cute with hay sticking out of their mouths?

This little gal let loose some of those infamous bellows while we were watching. I’m sure glad they are over that stage. I haven’t heard them in a couple of days.
