My hostess was thinking of dyeing some wool tops (for spinning) and yarns today. Off she went to gather dyes and on returning found she found Tom and m doing a “test for softness” and we asked if we could help. 

I asked, “Is this the same soft wool that lines my bed”? My hostess said that it was. M’mm, I wondered if we could color my bedding and she suggested we could dye several lengths of wool tops and I could choose the one I liked best.

Now this will 3 days to dye and dry fully, so we’ll make a start today by pre soaking the fibers in warm water and a little detergent. We’re going to also be dyeing some Woollen yarns. I'm going to learn all about this dyeing process while I'm here.
